Doda, Nov 30, KNT: A woman was killed after a private car, carrying three passengers, skidded off the road and plummeted into the Chenab River near Khandote village of Doda district on Saturday morning.
Official sources said that the victims, identified as Ranjeet Kumar (25) and his relatives Beli Ram (60) and Puran Devi (60), were traveling from Charya village to Jammu when the accident occurred.
They said the dead body of one of the passengers namely Puran Devi was recovered from the riverbank, while the car, with the two other occupants, submerged into the river.
Local sources said that the two missing persons Ranjeet Kumar and Beli Ram are feared dead.
A joint rescue operation was in progress till the filing of this report. [KNT]
