Police arrest two assailants for assaulting a govt employee in South Kashmir
Pulwama, Dec 23, KNT: Police arrested duo on charges of assaulting a government employee in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Police said that it acted swiftly following a complaint from the District Mineral Officer’s office regarding the assault of a mining department employee, Muhammad Amin Sheikh.
After receiving the complaint an FIR vide number 94/2024 was registered at Police Station Litter under relevant sections of law and investigation was launched immediately to apprehend the culprits.
Police said that two assailants Javid Ahmad Mir and Shamim Ahmad Mir, both residents of Petipora village were arrested within 24 hours of the incident.
Pertinently, on Sunday, assailants had assaulted the victim in the Lassipora area when the employee on duty had gone there along with a team to curb illegal mining. [KNT]
