Rahullah Mehdi Leads Protest Against Reservation Policy, Denies Intent to Break NC
Srinagar, Dec 23, KNT: National Conference leader and Member of Parliament Rahullah Mehdi, who spearheaded a protest outside Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s residence against the contentious reservation policy, clarified that his actions were not aimed at creating discord within the party.
“I am not here to break the National Conference or create confusion. I am here for justice and to demand a rational reservation policy,” Mehdi stated during the demonstration.
He also revealed that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has asked him to bring five youth from each part of Jammu and Kashmir to discuss and address the issue.
The protest, which highlighted growing discontent over the reservation policy, also saw participation from prominent PDP leaders Waheed Parra and Iltija Mufti, reflecting cross-party concerns about the impact of the policy. [KNT]
