The government today attached the house of former ‘Al-Umar’ militant commander Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar alias Mushtaq Latram.
Mushtaq has been reportedly living in Pakistan after he was released in exchange for hostages of the hijacked airplane in 1999.
Police personnel posted the notice of attachment on the house belonging to the father of Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar in Nowhatta area of old Srinagar city.
The house was attached under ‘Unlawfaul Activities Prevention Act’ on the directions of Ministry of Home Affairs – Government of India.
Mushtaq had been designated as a militant under the UAPA in April last year, a move that paved the way for the attachment of the house. [KNT]
