Review Meetings Not Enough, Stick to Your Agenda: Parra to Govt

Srinagar, Nov 19, KNT: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and legislator Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra Tuesday said that his party is not opposed to the government, but will continue to remind the National Conference (NC) to deliver on its commitments to the people.

Speaking to reporters outside PDP office in Srinagar, Parra highlighted several pressing issues that the NC has allegedly remained silent on, including the plight of political prisoners and young people languishing in jails outside Kashmir.

Parra stressed that review meetings alone cannot resolve these problems, pointing out that such meetings were already being conducted by the administration before the government formation.

He emphasized the need for the NC to address critical concerns, such as the rationalization of reservation policies, employment opportunities, and the sensitive issue of Article 370.

“The NC must stick to its agenda and manifesto, which resonated with the people, particularly on emotional issues,” Parra asserted. “We will continue to confront and remind the government about these pressing issues, including the release of political prisoners and the return of our youth from outside Kashmir jails.” [KNT]
