Body of youth killed allegedly in bear attack recovered after 40 days, two friends detained for questioning

KANGAN: Police detain duo after the recovery of a body after over 40 days in Central Kashmir’s Kangan town of Ganderbal district.

Forty days ago three friends had reportedly gone to Naranag picnic spot where a bear allegedly attacked the trio. Two escaped unhurt while Javaid Ahmed Mir, according to his friends slipped from hill top. From past forty days, the body of Javaid was untraceable, though soldiers from 24 Rashtriya Rifles and local police had put hard efforts in this regard.

Police sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that after the recovery of the body that was found one kilometre away from the spot of incident, the two friends namely Suhail Mir and Aijaz Raina of the deceased Javaid Ahmed Mir have been detained for questioning.

All three friends hail from Wangat area of Kangan.

Police sources added that the two friends of the deceased have been called for questioning to ascertain the proper facts. (KNT)
