Incarcerated Kashmiri leader Altaf Shah dies in Delhi hospital

The incarcerated son-in-law of late Syed Ali Geelani passed away on Tuesday morning in New Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
Altaf Ahmed Shah who was presently lodged in Tihar Jail had been admitted to AIIMS due to health complications.
Confirming his death, Ruwa Shah, the daughter of Shah tweeted: “Abu breathed his last at AIIMS, New Delhi. As a prisoner.”

The pinned tweet of Ruwa Shah about her father that she had tagged to MHA and PMO reads: “My incarcerated father has been diagnosed of acute renal cancer which has metastasis and has spread to his other body parts, including his bones. It is my whole family’s request to please allow us to see him and consider his bail application on health grounds.”
Altaf Shah was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in 2018, along with several other separatist leaders, on the charges of alleged militant financing case and since then he was lodged in the Tihar Jail. (KNT)
