Jungle smuggler dies while cutting down tree illegally in Tosamaidan forest, associate critical, horse dies also

 

BUDGAM: A timber smuggler died when he along with his associate, were trying to cut a large tree illegally in Tosamaidan in Khag area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

As per local sources, the incident took place when the duo was trying to cut a large tree, illegally with the aim to smuggle it later.

However, the tree fell on them suddenly and the duo was critically injured.

One of them, identified as Ghulam Mohd Mantoo (52) son of Ghulam Rasool Mantoo, died on the spot. The deceased is a resident of Sutharan Khag.

The other critically injured person, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh son of Muhammad Shaban Sheikh, also a resident of Sutharan Khag has been shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for treatment.

One horse also died in the incident, as per local sources. (KNT)
