Kulgam, May 14, KNT: Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) chief Ghulam Nabi Azad expressed disappointment over the low voter turnout in Srinagar Parliamentry constituency stating that he was expecting a high voter turnout of 80 to 90 percent.
“The lower turnout didn’t amply show the opinion of people about the abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of the state,” he said adding that lower voter turnout is not enough to know people’s opinion about Article 370 abrogation.
Azad was addressing an election campaign in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district which is part of the Anantnag-Rajouri parliamentary seat.
Azad said that lower voter turnout in Srinagar was below expectation and it doesn’t show whether people or happy or unhappy about the annulment of Article 370.
The Srinagar constituency witnessed 37.98 percent voting in the parliament election held yesterday on Monday. [KNT]
