An avalanche struck Sinthan Top, killing a JCB driver who was busy in a snow clearance operation on Tuesday.
Official sources said that a 36-year-old JCB driver Javid Ahmad Zagoo son of Abdul Aziz of Larnoo Kokarnag came under an avalanche resulting in his death. They said other workers escaped unhurt while a couple of workers are still missing and an operation has been launched to trace them.
Pertinently, Sinthan Top is a mountain pass, a popular tourist destination located between South Kashmir’s Breng Valley in Anantnag district and Kishtwar district of Chenab Valley of Jammu and Kashmir. (KNT)
