Dal dwellers accuse LAWDA officer of ‘arrogance’, seeks his transfer
Srinagar: Dal dwellers Saturday alleged that one of the officers from the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) cares a fig for the development and is ‘non-serious’ in addressing their grievances.
The Dal dwellers while seeking the intervention of LG and VC LAWDA said that callous attitude of Assistant Executive Engineer Rakh-e-Arth towards the people is pitiable. They said people approach the officer’s office with a hope to get their grievances redressed but on ground nothing changes.
“The dwellers of Rath-e-Arth colony are facing hardships. There is no electricity, now drinking water while roads are in shambles. We approached the concerned officer several times but instead of listening to us, the officer reproaches everyone,” locals told news agency Kashmir News Trust.
They said the said officer is least bothered about the welfare of the people and the development. “It is the height of arrogance on part of that officer, that he misbehaves with every visitor irrespective of their age and position,” the Dal dwellers said adding that it is in the interest of people to get this officer transferred.
When contacted VC LAWDA Bashir Ahmed said that he will look into the matter. “For some developmental works we have sought approval from the Central Government. Once the approval comes, work on those projects will start,” he said adding that complaints against the officer will be looked into. (KNT)
