Driver from Srinagar dies in Banihal Highway road accident

Banihal: Driver of a vehicle died on spot after he lost control over the vehicle that rolled down 200 feet deep gorge on Srinagar-Jammu Highway on Thursday.

Police sources said that an Alto car (Chasis Number) on way from Jammu to Srinagar met with an accident near Tulbagh Shabanbas area of Banihal in Ramban district.

The vehicle skidded off the road after the driver lost control over it. The driver of the vehicle identified as Aamir Zargar, a resident of Gulab Bagh Srinagar died on spot while another person on board Faisal Mehraj who hails from Rainawari Srinagar sustained injuries.

The injured was shifted to Sub District Hospital Banihal where he is undergoing treatment.

Doctors said the condition of the injured man is stable.

A case in this regard has been registered at police station Banihal. (KNT)
