Sunil Dimple in Jammu Protest for Statehood and Darbar Move
Jammu, Nov 2, KNT: Scores of people led by Sunil Dimple, President of Mission Statehood, held a demonstration at Janipur Jammu, in favor of statehood and restoration of Darbar Move practice.
The protesters demanded the restoration of Jammu Kashmir’s statehood, implementation of the Instrument of Accession conditions, and the start of Darbar Move this year.
Sunil Dimple addressed the protesters, emphasizing the suffering of traders due to the stoppage of Darbar Move. He urged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to initiate the bi-annual shift of the state government’s headquarters from Srinagar to Jammu without delay.
Dimple also expressed concerns over the increasing encounters in Kashmir, particularly in Khanyar, Srinagar, Bugam, Bandipora, and Anantnag. He questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah about the surge in militant attacks despite the central government’s control over security agencies and the army.
The protesters criticized the BJP government’s resolution on statehood, submitted to the Prime Minister and the Union government by the J&K cabinet. Dimple demanded a timeframe for the restoration of statehood and the start of Darbar Move. [KNT]
