Anantnag Police Crack Theft Case, Recover Golden Ornaments Worth Lakhs

 

Anantnag, Sep 13, KNT: Anantnag Police have solved a theft involving approximately Rs 7.5 lakhs of gold ornaments. The case was registered after Ms. Shahizda Akhter, wife of the late Ghulam Nabi Parray, filed a complaint.

Police said that during the investigation, Rehana, wife of Majid Dar of Minward village, was questioned and confessed to stealing the golden ornaments from the complainant’s possession. The stolen items, including a gold bangle, four gold rings, an earring, and a chain with a pendulum, were recovered from her residence.

Further investigation led to the recovery of additional golden ornaments from the accused’s house, bringing the total value of the recovered items to Rs 7.5 lakhs. The accused has been arrested, and the investigation is in progress. [KNT]
