Omar Abdullah Hits Back at PM Modi’s ‘Dynastic Politics’ Jibe

Kulgam, Sep 14, KNT: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today countered Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s attack on “dynastic politics,” urging him to focus on the present situation in the Valley rather than misleading people.

Addressing reporters in Kulgam, Omar Abdullah referred to the recent encounters in Kishtwar and Baramulla, where two army soldiers lost their lives, and questioned the Prime Minister’s claim that abrogating Article 370 would end violence in Kashmir.

“The people were told that violence in Kashmir would vanish after Article 370 abrogation. However, encounters are still going on,” Omar Abdullah said, highlighting the ongoing security challenges in the erstwhile state.

He also pointed out the BJP’s previous alliance with the People’s Democratic Party , another “dynastic” outfit, and noted that the BJP could potentially seek the PDP’s support again after the polls.

Omar Abdullah’s response comes after PM Modi’s speech in Doda, where he criticized “dynastic politics” and accused three political families of destroying Jammu and Kashmir. [KNT]
