FIR Registered Over Communal Social Media in J&K’s Doda

Doda, Apr 5, KNT: Police on Saturday registered a First Information Report (FIR) against a man for allegedly uploading sensitive and objectionable content targeting a particular community on social media in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district.
An official said the post, deemed communal in nature, was shared by an individual on a social media platform, prompting swift legal action. “An FIR has been registered against the person involved in circulating such irresponsible content. Legal proceedings as per law will follow,” the official stated.
In view of the incident, internet services were suspended in the Bhaderwah area of Doda as a precautionary measure to prevent any potential law and order situation.
Authorities have urged the public to remain calm and refrain from sharing or forwarding any provocative messages or videos. “We appeal to citizens to be responsible and avoid circulating any content that may incite communal tension,” the police official added.
The situation is being closely monitored, and further action will be taken based on the outcome of the investigation, officials said.
