Fire Breaks Out at Srinagar Hotel, Prompt Response Averts Major Damage

Srinagar, Apr 5, KNT: A fire broke out at Azad Hotel in Srinagar on Saturday morning, triggering panic among those present on the premises. However, swift action by firefighters ensured the blaze was brought under control without any injuries.

An official said that the fire was reported around 9 AM and was found to have originated in the boiler section and some adjoining sheds. Fire and emergency services rushed to the spot and quickly initiated evacuation and firefighting efforts.

“All individuals inside the hotel were safely evacuated, and the fire was contained,” an official said, adding that the cause of the fire is being investigated. [KNT]
