Traffic Congestion from Rizen Patheribal to Jama Masjid Gagangeer: A Persistent Issue

Gagangeer, Jan 9, KNT: Locals particularly traders from Kangan town of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district Thursday appealed to authorities to take appropriate steps to ease the traffic congestion. They said the road stretch from Rezen Patheribal to Jama Masjid Gagangeer has become a hotspot for traffic congestion, causing inconvenience to residents, patients, government employees, and traders.

The issue, which has turned into a routine problem, is attributed to haphazard parking by vehicles traveling from Srinagar to Sonamarg.

Locals have expressed frustration over the lack of proactive measures by traffic police to address the situation.

They alleged that the absence of strict enforcement has worsened the plight of commuters and pedestrians.

Locals have appealed to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic Rural Kashmir to take immediate steps to resolve the issue. “Despite the availability of designated parking spaces at Gagangeer, drivers continue to park randomly along the stretch, from Rizen to Jama Masjid, exacerbating the problem,” the locals said.
