Baramulla Police Nab Two Drug Peddlers, Seize Contraband and Vehicle

 

Baramulla, Dec 24, KNT: Police in North Kashmir’s Baramulla apprehended two individuals involved in drug peddling and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

The arrests were made during a routine checkpoint operation near ITI Pattan in the Pattan area.

Police said that acting on specific intelligence, a team led by the Station House Officer, Police Station Pattan intercepted a Santro vehicle bearing registration number JK01L-7671.

Upon inspection, the two occupants of the vehicle were identified as Mosin Raja, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Tantray from Tantraypora Palhallan, and Ashiq Hussain Dar, son of Abdul Ahad from Manzseer Sopore.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 2.30 grams of Brown Sugar, a controlled substance. The duo was immediately taken into custody, and the vehicle used in the crime was seized by the authorities.

A formal case has been registered at Police Station Pattan under the relevant sections of law, and further investigation is currently underway to ascertain the source and network involved in the illegal trade. [KNT]
