Rain and Snow to Persist in J&K, Weather to Improve by Sunday

Srinagar, Mar 14, KNT: Jammu and Kashmir will continue to experience light to moderate rainfall over the next 36 hours, with fresh snowfall reported in parts of south Kashmir, the meteorological department said on Thursday.
An official forecast predicts that wet conditions will persist across the region in the coming days. However, an overall improvement in weather is expected from Sunday, March 16, though some areas may still witness light showers on that day.
On Thursday, Jammu and Kashmir witnessed intermittent rainfall, while higher reaches recorded fresh snowfall. The wet spell is anticipated to continue through March 15 and 16, with dry conditions likely to set in from March 17.
Authorities have issued a yellow alert, warning of isolated snowfall and lightning across the region. The advisory also cautions travelers about possible disruptions in movement at high-altitude passes and mountainous routes, particularly on March 14 and 15.
