Patients Suffer as District Hospital Shopian Lacks Radiologist

Shopian, Sep 14, KNT: The absence of a Radiologist at the District Hospital Shopian in South Kashmir has left patients in a state of distress, with many appealing to the authorities to address the issue urgently.

The hospital, which caters to a large population in the district, has been without a Radiologist for an extended period, causing difficulties for patients requiring imaging services.

Patients and attendants have expressed frustration over the lack of radiology services, which has forced them to seek medical attention elsewhere.

Medical Superintendent Dr. Khalid Abbas acknowledged the issue, stating that the hospital had two Radiologists, both of whom are currently on maternity leave.

Dr. Abbas assured that the matter has been brought to the attention of the Director Health Service, and he is hopeful that a Radiologist will be deputed to the hospital soon. “We hope that in a couple of days, a Radiologist will join the hospital,” he said. [KNT]
