Iconic Shiv Temple gutted in Gulmarg fire incident, TASK expresses grief

Gulmarg, June 5, KNT: The famous Shiv Temple located at world famous ski resort of Gulmarg Kashmir has been completely gutted in a devastating fire incident.

Official sources told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that a fire broke out at about 03:45 hours in the famous Shiv Temple commonly known as Maharani Temple at Gulmarg.

Despite timely action by fire service station Gulmarg and local police, the iconic temple, built mostly of wood, got completely damaged.

Officials added that the cause of fire is being ascertained.

Police have registered a case to ascertain the facts.

Meanwhile, Travel Agents Society of Kashmir commonly known as TASK has expressed sorrow over the incident.

President Muhammad Ibrahim Siah and General Secretary Waseem Gosani in a statement demanded thorough probe into the incident. [KNT]
