Two young brothers died on Friday morning when their motorcycle was hit by a truck on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway near the Khadwani area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Local sources told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the duo were on their way to Srinagar from their native village when near Khadwani, a truck hit their motor-cycle. They were rushed to the hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.
Sources added that the truck driver fled away from the spot after the accident.
The victims have been identified as Adil Manzoor Dar (23) and Shabir Manzoor Dar (21), sons of Manzoor Ahmed Dar, residents of Rishipora Khul Ahmadabad village of Kulgam.
The victims were school dropouts and were on their way to Srinagar for manual laboring.
Police have registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of law. [KNT]
