Police in South Kashmir’s Kulgam attach property of drug dealer acquired through illegal means

Police in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district sealed the property owned by a notorious drug dealer. Police said that the property attached had been acquired by the accused through illegal means.

The notorious drug peddler whose property was seized has been identified as Mashooq Qadir Sheikh, a resident of Khudwani Kulgam

Police said that action against the accused was initiated in connection with a formal case registered against him under the NDPS Act at police station Qaimoh last year.

The attached property includes a double-storey residential house measuring 625 square feet.

The property as per the police was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the owner.

In the recent past, police have seized the properties of various drug dealers in different districts of Jammu and Kashmir, a move largely hailed by the common people. [KNT]
