Police arrest 2 drug peddlers in North Kashmir’s Kupwara

Police have arrested two drug peddlers in North Kashmir’s Handwara and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
Police Station Kralgund and Police Station Vilgam made these arrests during patrolling at Badrah crossing on Baramulla-Handwara National Highway and in Manzgam area in two separate acts.
Police said the drug peddlers tried to flee from the spot after noticing the police party but was apprehended tactfully. During the search, about 32 grams of Charas were recovered from the possession of Umar Reyaz Bhat of Kralgund. He has been shifted to the police station where he remains in custody.
Another drug peddler arrested in Manzgam has been identified as Nisar Bashir Lone of Chokibal Kupwara. At least 20 grams of Brown Sugar was recovered from his possession. He has been shifted to the police station where he remains in custody. [KNT]
