Police arrest two drug addicts for assaulting a beggar in Kashmir capital Srinagar

Police Monday said that it arrested two drug addicts, who had assaulted and looted a homeless old man in Lal Chowk area of Srinagar city.

Srinagar Police in a Tweet informed that:  “Two accused arrested for beating & looting a homeless old man in Lal chowk area around midnight time 2 days back.”

The accused have been identified as Furqaan Majeed Khan, a resident of Nowgam Kanipora and Danish Manzoor Ganie, a resident of Sopore.

“Both are drug addicts and criminal-minded,” police said.

Pertinently, a video probably from Abi Guzar location had gone viral in which these two drug addicts were seen trying to snatch money from a beggar during late night hours.

Drug addiction of late in Kashmir has shown an upward trend giving rise to crime in society. (KNT)
