With Srinagar Municipal Corporation failing to undertake macadamization of Mehjoor Nagar-Natipora link road, the locals have been mulling to pool money to set the busy motorable raod on track.
Scores of Sumo vehicles carrying passengers take this route and get stranded for hours. The road from extreme end of Mehjoor Nagar to the Natipora shrine is completely in dilapidated conditions, giving a tough time to commuters.
The majority of the link roads have been left unattended by SMC. “Earlier it was R&B that used to lend an ear to our grievances but SMC has now started caring a fig and didn’t bother to macadamize the vital road links,” the locals told news agency Kashmir News Trust.
They said recently locals called a meeting and decided to pool money for the repair of the road in case the SMC does not macadamize it before the end of the macadamization season.
Efforts to contact SMC Joint Commissioner Works didn’t materialize. (KNT)
