Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Police here in Burzulla uptown of Srinagar city launched a bung destruction drive and destroyed bung cultivation in the jurisdiction of Police Station Sadar.
While divulging information about the drive, Station House Officer Police Station Sadar, Mudasir Nazar told news agency Kashmir News Trust that the police party from Police Station Sadar along with Civil Society Groups and locals of the area launched a special drive against wild bung at Burzulla Bund and its adjacent areas and destroyed it.
He said the public appreciated the efforts of the police and hailed the launching of the driver started on the directions of DIG Central Range and SSP Srinagar.
Police on this occasion requested community members to come forward with any information regarding the cultivation of contrabands in their neighborhood.
“Anyone found indulging in drug peddling & cultivation of bung shall be dealt as per law,” SHO Mudasir added. (KNT)
