3 soldiers, 2 militants killed in J&K ‘suicide’ attack

Three soldiers were killed while engaging two suspected suicide attackers who as per police tried to cross the fence of the Army camp at Pargal in Darhal area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district. Both the alleged suicide attackers were killed in the action.
Besides the killing of three soldiers two soldiers sustained injuries who have been airlifted to the hospital for advanced treatment.
Defense sources said that before killing both the militants, five soldiers including an officer were injured. Three among them succumbed to their injuries while two are being treated in the hospital.

Shortly after the attack, Army informed that two militants trying to sneak into a post in the dark at Pargal Rajouri were detected and engaged by alert troops. Army said that the militants have been neutralized while 5 soldiers also suffered injuries and are being treated.
Later army officials said that in a militant attack 25 km from Rajouri, two militants carried out a suicide attack on an Army company operating base. Both have been killed while three troops have lost their lives.
A massive search operation was launched after the attack, however, no arrests were made. (KNT)
