Amid a drive against the commuters driving their vehicles without installing High-Security Registration Plates (HSRPs), the drivers in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district are finding it hard to install the HSRPs as the concerned company is without any address from the past couple of days.

Scores of people had applied online to install High-Security Registration Plates (HSRPs) in the district but the make-shift office of the concerned company located in Bijbehara area is locked down.

The company in question is ‘Real Mazon India Limited’.

“I had applied for the High-Security Registration Plate and the company provided a receipt vide HSN Code 87089900 on 14 June this month. After a couple of days when I visited the same place, the office was locked and it is still locked,” one of the locals told news agency Kashmir News Trust.

Scores of people were seen outside the office of the said company but its doors are locked and employees are not reachable.

“Traffic Police seize the vehicles without HSRP numbers. We don’t know how to deal with the situation. We have already applied for the High-Security Registration Plates, but there is no address of the company,” they said.

High-Security Registration Plates (HSRPs), are a new type of number plates made of aluminum, which are tamper-proof and come with two non-reusable locks. The vehicle identification number is laser encoded, which is easy to scan and difficult to tamper with.

ARTO Anantnag, Zubair Ahmed Latoo admitted that the employees of the company are untraceable. “I myself visited the make-shift office. It was locked and all the employees are out of reach as their cell phones are switched off. I don’t know any employee personally,” he said adding that vehicles without HSRPs are being seized and keeping it in view he has intimated the authorities about the situation. (KNT)
