Stop schooling enrolled children, Education Department to Heads of banned schools

After the recent government order directing Falah-E-Aam Trust (FAT) affiliated schools to cease academic activities, the Education Department in Central Kashmir’s Budgam has directed all the heads of such schools to stop the schooling of enrolled students.

Chief Education Officer Budgam as per news agency Kashmir News Trust has issued an order asking all the Heads of such private schools of the District, operating on state/kcharaie land to close the schooling of the enrolled children with immediate effect and issue the school-leaving certificates in favor of their respective students so that they will be accommodated in nearby Government schools.

The Education Department has said that these students will be enrolled in the Government schools subject to the consent of their parents.

The Department has asked the heads of the schools allegedly operating on state land to there is no scope of any kind of laxity and the matter should be treated as very urgent.

According to official figures, 11,000 students studying in these schools across Kashmir. However, an unofficial estimate suggested that more than 350 schools are running under the FAT and that more than one lakh students are enrolled in them. (KNT)
