Srinagar: In view of the ensuing Eid-ul-Fitr festival, President Jammu Kashmir Apni Party Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari Saturday asked the Government to facilitate the hassle-free purchase of necessary items.
Stressing on rate regulation of essential commodities and other items, Bukhari appealed to concerned departments to constitute multi-departmental squads to conduct extensive market checking to prevent traders, dealers, and shopkeepers from resorting to hoarding, overcharging black marketing, or sale of sub-standard items.
In a statement to news agency Kashmir News Trust, Bukari asked the government to ensure availability of all essential commodities across all markets.
He emphasized PDD and PHE to ensure an uninterrupted supply of electricity and drinking water supply across all districts. He said that the administration has miserably failed to provide an uninterrupted power supply to the consumers during the holy month of Ramdhan. There should not be any frequent power breakdowns on the days around Eid.
Stressing cleanliness and sanitation, Bukhari appealed to SMC to ensure regular lifting of garbage and waste material and maintenance of proper sanitation around religious and market places. (KNT)
