“Will restore the lost glory of Waqf” Darakshan Andrabi appointed chairperson Muslim Waqf Board

Srinagar: The Government of India has appointed Dr. Darakshan Andrabi as chairperson of Muslim Waqf Board for Jammu & Kashmir.

According to a notification, Andrabi has been appointed under clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 14 of ‘The Waqf Act-1995.’

Reacting to her appointment as Chairperson, Dr Darakshan Andrabi told news agency Kashmir News Trust that her only mission is to serve the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

She said the responsibility she has been entrusted with is a very sensitive one and she will try her best to live up to the expectations of people.

“I will hopefully restore the lost glory of Waqf Board. Since it is an honor for me, I will bring accountability in the Waqf,” Dr Darakshan Andrabi said. (KNT)
