Leopard kills 14 sheep, wounding 7 in Poonch district of J&K

Poonch: A leopard mauled 14 sheep to death in a Mendhar village of district Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir.

The incident occurred in the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday in Aadhi village.

Locals told news agency Kashmir News Trust that 14 sheep died in the leopard attack while a medical team rushed to the village to treat the injured sheep numbering 7.

Owner of the live-stock Muhammad Shabir said that a leopard barged into the tin shed and killed 14 sheep and injuring 7.

BDC Chairman and concerned Sarpanch who visited the spot have appealed to the government to provide financial assistance to the owner of the live-stock. (KNT)
