Self-Immolation Incident: Div Com transfers Tehsildar Ganderbal, appoints Enquiry Officer to probe the episode

Ganderbal: Divisional Commissioner has appointed an Enquiry Officer to probe the self-immolation incident in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. Tehsildar Ganderbal has also been transferred for mishandling the issue.

Pertinently, a young man identified as Amir Hamid Shah son of Nazir Ahmad Shah of Haran Ganderbal set himself on fire yesterday during a demolition drive in Gundrehmani area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

The condition of the victim is not stable in the hospital.

Taking the cognizance of the media reports, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Pandurang K Pole today appointed Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Khurshid Ahmed Shah as Enquiry Officer to inquire into the whole gamut of the episode and furnish his findings along with his definite comments and recommendations within a period of 10 days positively.

The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir has also ordered the transfer of the Tehsildar Ganderbal while his services are kept at the disposal of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora owing to mishandling of the issue. (KNT)
