SRINAGAR: Politicians, sportspersons, film stars, and others today paid tribute to 40 CRPF personnel killed in Kashmir Valley on this day (14 February 2019).
On February 14, 2019, at least 40 Central Reserve Police Force personnel were killed after a suicide bomber filled with explosives rammed a vehicle with the convoy of 2,500 CRPF personnel, traveling from Jammu to Srinagar Highway near Lethpora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Film star Akshay Kumar took to Twitter and wrote: “My heartfelt tribute to all our brave soldiers who lost their lives on this day in Pulwama. We will always remain indebted to them and their families for their supreme sacrifice.”

Border Security Force also paid tribute to slain troopers. It wrote: “Tributes to CRPF brave hearts who laid down their lives during the Pulwama attack this day in 2019.”
Among the cricketers who paid tribute were Virendar Sehwag, Vankatesh Prasad, VVS Laxman and Gautum Ghamber.
