Police book duo for possessing cannabis in North Kashmir 

SRINAGAR: During a cordon and search operation, police recovered cannabis from a shop in North Kashmir’s Handwara.

Sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that Joint Forces conducted a cordon and search operation in Handwara and during the search operation, 4 kilograms of Cannabis were recovered from a shop belonging to one Muhammad Akbar Malik, a resident of Guloora Handwara.

Police in this regard registered a case and arrested the shopkeeper.

Meanwhile, Police in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district apprehended a man near a checkpoint on the highway at Rangi village falling under the jurisdiction of police station Pattan.

Sources said that 200 grams of charas were recovered from the man identified as Nisar Dar, a resident of Rangi village Pattan.

A case vide FIR number 34/2022 under section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered against the accused. (KNT)
