Road from Haft Chinar Chowk to Jehangir Chowk will be named Shaheed Makhan Lal Bindroo Road: Srinagar Mayor
Srinagar: Srinagar Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu Wednesday said that the road from Haft Chinar Chowk to Jehangir Chowk (where Bindroo Medicate is located) will be named Shaheed Makhan Lal Bindroo Road as a tribute to his contributions to society.
Makhan Lal Bindroo was shot dead yesterday evening by unidentified gunmen outside his shop located at Iqbal Park Srinagar.
Junaid Azim Mattu who along with Apni Party President Syed Altaf Bukhari visited the slain pharmacist’s house located at Indira Nagar Sonwara in a tweet informed that as a mark of respect and tribute the road from Haft Chinar to Jahangir Chowk will be named as Shaheed Makhan Lal Bindroo Road.
He said a resolution to this effect will be formally proposed in the SMC General Council.
Junaid Azim Mattu also expressed deep shock and grief over the killing of Bindroo and expressed solidarity with the Bindroo family, friends, relatives and acquaintances. Mattu prayed for peace to the departed soul and endurance to the bereaved family to face this difficult time. (KNT)
