ACB seizes 70 driving licenses, arrests ‘fake’ employee

Kupwara: Anti-Corruption Bureau team seized about 70 driving licenses and arrested an alleged fake employee for providing driving licenses without any driving test in lieu of money.

Sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that after receiving information that licenses are being issued to drivers without any driving test, ACB team from Srinagar headed by an officer visited Nagari Higher Secondary School ground-the venue for driving test in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

After observing keenly, ACB team seized over 70 driving licenses and caught  red handed an agent from Vilgam Kupwara taking bribe against driving license without passing the test.

Sources said that the said agent was pretending to be an employee of Regional Transport Office from past several years and had patronage of previous ARTOs.

A formal case in this regard has been registered and investigation set into motion. (KNT)
