Police prevents a minor girl from committing suicide in Central Kashmir
GANDERBAL: Police here in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district prevented a minor girl from ending her life. Police foiled her attempt of jumping into the river.
A police official told news agency Kashmir News Trust that on Friday late evening a police party headed by Chowki Officer Shadipora, Sub-Inspector Gulzar Ahmed spotted a girl roaming in suspicious condition in Shalhar Dab area of Ganderbal.
The girl (name withheld) was intending to jump into the river when police rushed to spot, stopped and pacified her.
The girl admitted she was planning to end her life due to some reasons. After counselling, police handed over the girl to her parents who expressed gratitude and hailed the role of police.
The girl is the resident of Magam area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district. (KNT)
