Three militants killed in Tral forest area after five days of search operation: Army

Tral: Army Saturday said that it managed to neutralize three militants after five days of continuous search operation in Hangalmarg area of Tral forest area in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Srinagar based Defense Spokesperson Colonel Emron Musavi said that ‘Operation Hangalmarg’ was in progress since August 17 and after five days of search operation by Victor Forces, contact was established on Saturday morning and during the exchange of fire three militants were killed.

While divulging information about ‘Operation Hangalmarg’, Defense Spokesperson said that Victor Force, has been conducting search operations in the upper reaches of Nagaberan and Dacchigam Forests since 17 August this month.

He said contact was established with militants during Saturday wee hours and three militants were neutralized in a swift operation.

He said two AK 47 assault rifles, one SLR and other warlike stores have been recovered from the slain militants while identity of the killed militants is being ascertained.

The Defense Spokesperson said that a dreaded militant Saifullah alias Lamboo, involved in Pulwama attack, was also neutralized in the same area on 31 July last month.

Meanwhile, police said that all the three slain militants are affiliated with banned militant organization Jaish-e-Muhammad. (KNT)
