CBC machine at M&CCH Anantnag lying defunct

Patients are forced to get pathological tests done at private centres as the ‘Complete Blood Count (CBC) analyzer machine at Maternity and Child Care Hospital Anantnag is lying defunct for last three weeks.

Taking advantage of the situation touts from private pathology clinics who roam near the hospital are misguiding patients to their center even when the hospital doctors have been referring these patients to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag.

When asked to comment, the medical superintendent, Maternity and Child Care Hospital, Dr Muhammad Shafi told news agency Kashmir News Trust that he has already taken up the issue with the authorities and hopefully, the machine will be installed very soon.

Principal Government Medical College Anantnag, Dr Tariq Qureshi assured that a new CBC machine will be installed within 10 days and till then tests will be conducted at GMC Anantnag. (KNT)
