City Traffic Police launch drive against wrong parking
Srinagar: City Traffic Police on Monday acted tough on violators as a part of its continuous drive against wrong parking in the City Centre Lal Chowk.
Several wrongly parked vehicles were challaned on spot and were towed away to pave the way for the smooth and hassle-free movement of the traffic on the congested roads in Srinagar.
Even a government vehicle (JK03D-1935) wrongly parked on the road was towed by the traffic cops.
The drive was supervised by the DySP Traffic West Imtiyaz Ahmed, who appealed to the common masses as well as the owners of the business establishments in Lal Chowk to adhere to the rules and regulations and cooperate in decongesting the roads in City Centre.
While talking to reporters, the police officer as per news agency Kashmir News Trust said that strict action under law will be taken against the violators. He said people in order to save money desist from parking their vehicles in parking lots. He appealed to them to desist from wrong parking.
He also said that action against those will be initiated as well against the drivers whose vehicles don’t carry High Security Registration Plate Numbers. (KNT)
