J&K Government Dismisses Claims of Ration Stoppage for BPL Families

Jammu, Mar 19, KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir government has refuted allegations that ration distribution to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families has been halted due to verification-related issues.
Responding to a query raised by MLA Mir Saifullah, the government clarified that all eligible beneficiaries continue to receive their entitled food grains under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) as well as subsidized supplies under the Non-Priority Household (NPHH) category.
The Minister overseeing the Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs assured that there has been no disruption in the supply of ration due to verification concerns.
“Every eligible household is receiving food grains as per the approved scales—free of cost under NFSA and at significantly subsidized rates under NPHH,” the minister stated.
The government’s response aims to dispel fears among residents regarding any interruptions in ration distribution and reiterates its commitment to ensuring food security for all entitled beneficiaries.
