Dimple Demands ‘National Mother’ Status for Cows, Threatens Jammu Bandh
Jammu, Jan 8, KNT: Sunil Dimple, president of Mission Statehood, has intensified his campaign to seek the declaration of cows as the “National Mother” of India. Dimple joined a protest rally in Jammu city, supporting the Kalki Movement’s agitation, which has entered its 80th day.
Addressing the rally, Dimple called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to introduce and pass a bill in Parliament to ban cow smuggling and slaughtering and officially grant cows the status of “National Mother.” He also urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, and former J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to advocate for a similar bill in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly to prohibit cow slaughtering in the region.
Dimple issued a strong warning, threatening to call for a Jammu bandh if the demand for granting “National Mother” status to cows is not met. He also criticized the silence of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, including 28 MLAs and two Members of Parliament from the region, over the ongoing agitation to protect cows.
The Mission Statehood leader demanded stringent penalties, including lifetime imprisonment, for individuals involved in cow smuggling and slaughtering. He reiterated his support for the movement, assuring that Mission Statehood would fully back the cause until the demands are fulfilled.
Dimple concluded by calling for immediate action to honor cows as “Rashtriya Mata” (National Mother), emphasizing the cultural and religious importance of cows in India.
