Police register ‘attempt to murder’ case against DDC member for allegedly assaulting government official on duty

BANDIPORA: Police have registered an attempt to murder case against the DDC member of Jammu Kashmir Apni Party from North Kashmir’s Bandipora district for assaulting a top government official during duty hours.

The incident occurred in Kudara village of Bandipora where a team led by Assistant Commissioner Revenue and Tehsildar Bandipora had gone to conduct the survey of the road.

DDC member probably not happy with the delay caused by the administration in conducting the survey of the road, allegedly assaulted Tehsildar.

Tehsildar Bandipora shortly after the incident registered a police complaint while police taking cognizance of the complaint registered an FIR vide number 107/2021 under section 307, 353, 392 against the District Development Council member Ghulam Mohiuddin Rather.

In the police complaint, DDC member has been accused of assaulting a government official on duty.

Pertinently, Ghulam Mohiuddin Rather had won DDC election from Arin constituency as an independent candidate and later joined the Jammu and Kashmir Apni party. (KNT)
