Two drug smugglers held in J&K’s Rajouri
Rajouri, Dec 16, KNT: Two suspected drug smugglers were arrested near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, and 5.5 kilograms of heroin were seized from their possession, officials said on Monday.
They said that the operation carried out in the Nowshera sector prevented a significant drug smuggling attempt from across the border.
The confiscated heroin, valued in crores in the international market, was discovered during a joint operation by the Army and the police in the forward villages of Sher and Kaneti on Sunday night.
The suspects, identified as 25-year-old Sajan Kumar and 36-year-old Subash Chander, were taken into custody during the operation.
Notably, a day earlier, the Border Security Force had intercepted a Pakistani drone carrying nearly half a kilogram of high-grade narcotics along the international border in Jammu’s Arnia sector.
