MP  Ruhullah pitches for one-time age relaxation for JKPSI aspirants

Srinagar, Dec 16, KNT: National Conference MP Syed Aga Ruhullah Mehdi on Monday raised the plight of aspirants for the Jammu and Kashmir Police Sub-Inspector posts in Parliament, urging the central government to provide a one-time age relaxation for candidates affected by delays in the recruitment process.

Rahullah Mehdi posted a video of the speech made by him in the Parliament on microblogging site X. He pointed out that thousands of qualified candidates have been rendered ineligible after surpassing the upper age limit due to prolonged recruitment delays. The delays, he argued, have deprived these individuals of the opportunity to serve in the police force despite their dedication and readiness.

He said the situation has left a significant number of Jammu and Kashmir’s youth disheartened and uncertain about their future. He said that granting an age relaxation would not only address the grievances of these candidates but also restore their trust in the recruitment system.

“I request the government of India and the Home Minister to intervene in this matter,” he said. [KNT]
