Jammu, Sep 23, KNT: Jammu-based leader Sunil Dimple has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of having a dual stand on Article 370. Speaking to reporters on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh, Dimple pointed out the irony of the BJP celebrating Maharaja Hari Singh’s legacy while simultaneously undermining his vision for the state.
Dimple argued that the BJP’s decision to abrogate Article 370 in 2019 humiliated Maharaja Hari Singh’s memory and compromised the land and job rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The abrogation also led to the downgrading of Jammu and Kashmir from a state to a Union Territory, which Dimple termed as an insult to the Dogra State and its population.
He said that the people of Jammu, particularly the Dogras, have begun to recognize the BJP’s dual stance on this issue and will respond accordingly. [KNT]
