Outsiders rule J&K against the wishes of people: Rahul Gandhi
Srinagar, Sep 23, KNT: Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi Monday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of prioritizing his personal views over actual work, citing Jammu and Kashmir’s downgrade to a Union Territory and subsequent rule by “outsiders” against the people’s wishes.
Gandhi was addressing an election rally in central Shalteng where JK Congress Unit president Tariq Hameed Karra is contesting for the first time on a Congress ticket.
Gandhi criticized Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha stating he is ineffective and works against the people’s interests. He emphasized that addressing unemployment and restoring statehood in J&K constitutes real work.
Rahul Gandhi said that the confidence of PM Modi has waned. He credited the INDIA alliance for breaking Modi’s psychology, visibly changing his demeanor.
Gandhi condemned BJP leaders for spreading hatred, pitting brother against brother. Instead, he advocated for love and unity. During his 4,000-kilometer journey from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, Gandhi claimed to have countered BJP’s hatred with love.
He emphasized Congress’s commitment to restoring J&K’s statehood, a democratic right. Gandhi vowed to pressure BJP post-elections, guaranteeing statehood restoration if BJP fails to deliver. [KNT]
